OPEN POSITIONS

Sr. Radio Frequency Engineer needed at Brooklyn, NY headquarters:

As Sr. RF Engineer with MKJ Communications, Inc., you will be responsible for leading concurrent million dollar+ radio frequency engineering projects, onsite with NY City Transit and other major clients within New York, Kings, Queens, & Bronx counties.  MKJ is a full-service firm that engineers, integrates, and maintains custom, state-of-the-art systems that seamlessly keep our client's customers safe, connected, on the go, and on time.

Specific Tasks will include:

  • Design Radio Systems like Antenna, DAS and Communication Systems like CCTV System, Public Address/Customer Information Sign System, ADA Elevator Systems, Access Control, and Security Systems, Telephone systems, etc.
  • Establish a network by programming of network devices like switches, routers, Intercoms, Cameras, etc according to the NYCT requirements using various tools to achieve the desired functionality.
  • Implement radio budget analysis and heat maps to find out the best possible way to achieve stronger radio signals.
  • Prepare equipment submittals, system design drawings, testing procedures, and bulletins for all of the above systems.
  • Create test procedures to test the designed systems at factory and site levels.
  • Perform radio equipment testing at various levels (pre-factory, factory, pre-site, and site) of all the above systems to meet the required criteria.
  • Perform various heat map surveys that help in developing the above systems based on worksite conditions.
  • Estimate equipment and labor costs for new projects with Radio Design and Build scope of work.
  • Assist the technicians in building the systems based on design and requirement.
  • Train junior engineers (6) and interns (2) to design, develop and test the systems.
  • Build Operations and Maintenance Manuals for the above systems.
  • Provide on-site assistance with all the equipment provided by MKJ even after completion of work.

General, Minimum Requirements:

  • MS Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communications Engineering, or related, or Foreign equivalency plus at least 1yr experience as RF Engineer or related position designing network systems for optimum use of radio equipment; Testing radio systems and performing checks in order to ensure quality; and Performing antenna hardware analysis to achieve expected network results.

Special Requirements:

  • Must have strong skills in Wireless and Radio Communications, Radio wave Propagation, Smith Charts, Link Budget Analysis, Wireless and local area networks, Wired and Wireless Telecommunications, Fundamentals of Electronics, Circuit Theory, circuit design logical circuits, PCB Designing, Network Topology, Cisco Programming, Antenna Theory; Tools/Tech: AutoCAD, Putty, Cisco Interface, Eagle PCB Design, Microsoft Excel
