Job Title: Electrical Engineering Project Manager
Location: Brooklyn, NY *Add’al worksites – Queens, New York and Bronx counties
Job Duties: Responsible for engineering design, systems integration, field implementation, and overall project leadership on multi-million-dollar engineering projects. Apply advanced electrical engineering principles, technical design expertise, and supervisory responsibility across engineering and field teams. Design, model, and prototype custom components using 3D CAD tools and additive manufacturing technologies to support NYCT communication system deployments, including custom enclosures, brackets, cabinet modifications, and high-precision device housings. Utilize 3D printing to develop rapid prototypes and implement engineering solutions that improve installation feasibility, equipment protection, and overall system integration. Propose and develop innovative hardware solutions using 3D design and fabrication expertise to enhance the company’s project execution and internal engineering workflows. Plan and execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), verifying grounding, configuration, system performance, and equipment-rack readiness. Conduct Station Integration Tests and System Integration Tests for NYCT projects, coordinating with subsystems such as security, fire alarm, networking, and telephony. Manage multiple engineering and construction projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to scope, technical requirements, quality, and schedule. Lead and participate in design-build meetings, progress meetings, project execution meetings, and technical reviews with NYCT and general contractors. Train, mentor, and oversee junior engineers and interns in preparing submittals, diagrams, test procedures, and engineering documentation. Develop Operation & Maintenance Manuals and Training Manuals for custom-engineered systems. Train customer personnel on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment installed by the company. Prepare billing documentation and invoices for work performed. *Supervision is inherent to the position.
Requirements: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a closely related field of study. One (1) year related experience as an Electronics Tech Lead, Software Engineer or related occupation. Experience is required and must include: Integrating RF, 4G, network-based communication modules, and advanced GPS positioning systems, including RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) technology, into complex electromechanical or robotic systems for high-precision communication and localization; Designing and developing custom embedded electronic systems using microcontrollers and single-board computers, including STM32, Raspberry Pi, and NVIDIA Jetson platforms, integrating sensors, motor controllers, and communication interfaces; Performing PCB schematic design, layout, and fabrication using tools such as EagleCAD, including development of embedded firmware for system operation; and Implementing robotics and automation control algorithms (PID control, IMU-based localization, and SLAM techniques) for autonomous or semi-autonomous electromechanical platforms. $125,237/yr.
